The bay of Izmir has until now been a relatively unknown diving area. The bay has a number of interesting diving and snorkelling sites that have until now remained unvisited as diving is only permitted whilst accompanied by a diving guide. One thing that makes for interesting diving is the partially and fully submerged caves in the area, the other are the many wrecks and submerged ruins. Turkey has seen many cultures come and go in her long history and this has made the country one of the premier sites for maritime archaeology.

Atlas Marina has its own diving centre with experienced guides and instructors, specialising in the areas of cave diving and archaeological diving.
