As a company in the Turkish tourist and boating industry, Atlas Marina takes the environment to be one of the most important considerations in its plans for the marina in Urla. The plans take special precautions on two fronts:
  • Firstly, Atlas Marina wishes to make a minimum impact on the environment. The plans cover all aspects of the design, from its durability, its maintenance, waste disposal and environmental safety precautions. 
  • Secondly, Atlas Marina will take on a role in the environmental education of its users. This will be done by providing clearly marked and separate waste disposal facilities, good public transport, and a set of environmental rules.

The building plans are being tested on a variety of environmental measures.

  • The Marina is being tested by the Turkish Ministry of the Environment.
  • The plans will be in accordance with and even exceeding international environmental standards as recommended by the International Maritime Organisation
  • The Marina wishes to join the list of 'Blue Flag' Marinas, an international standard for clean beaches and Marinas.
