The Philosophy of Atlas Marina
In
historical ports, the harbour is usually the centre of a broad range of activities.
This is the founding principle in the design of Atlas Marina.
In
this day and age, this simple principle creates a very complex mandate. How does one
place a four-star resort, a bustling promenade, attractive food & drink locations and
a complete harbour in one place in such a way that it is a centre for activity and that it conforms to the standard of our
times.
After
conversations with sailors, boat-owners and especially their families, it became clear
just how comprehensive the plan would have to be. A successful marina must be have
much more than complete facilities for water sports and good waters for sailing; it must
be a place where the whole family wishes to go, which can be enjoyed without ever leaving
the dockside.
It
became clear that Atlas Marina would have to be a place where people with very diverse
interests have a whole array of choice yet can meet in one location.
